We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Charge Nurse / Clinical Lead to join our specialist learning disability service team in Norfolk. This role involves providing high-quality care to male patients aged 18 years and older, who have complex mental health needs, including autism and personality disorders. The Charge Nurse / Clinical Lead will play a critical role in managing the clinical care and operational aspects of the service.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the nursing team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care in accordance with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress, making necessary adjustments to care plans and treatments.
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and training to nursing staff to promote professional development and ensure high standards of care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and occupational therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to maintain and improve the quality of care provided.
  • Manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, ensuring a smooth and safe transition.
  • Act as a point of contact for patients, families, and external agencies, providing support and information as required.
  • Participate in clinical governance and contribute to the continuous improvement of the service.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (Mental Health) with a valid NMC pin.
  • Significant experience in a mental health setting, preferably within a rehabilitation or low secure environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and personality disorders.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with current best practices in mental health care.
